The TC999 is developed and built near Oslo in a series of 9 by the founders of the TRT-yard. The "Havkatt III" is bought in 2007 near Bergen by the present Dutch owner, who used the yacht there to sail from their Island-base to the mainland. After return to the Netherlands the Lauwersmeer and the Waddensea became the new home waters. In 2010 the original wingmast was replaced by a shorter rig to make this catamaran more seaworthy and suitable for longer seavoyages. The two following years they made trips back to the Norwegian coast and across southern Sweden. In 2013 the "Havkat III" crossed the Atlantic partly single handed to Curaçao from where the Caribbean was explored up to Cuba and Florida and later over the Intra Coastal Waterway to North Carolina (2016). After cruising the Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River in the summer of 2017, the owner is placed back to Belgium, where he has no place for the TC999. The boat is now on the return-voyage to Europe and cabn be inspected during a stopover in the Azores.
